Who We Are
Criss Cross Applesauce Schoolhouse is a licensed, home-based preschool that opened in 2023. We offer both full-time and part-time care for children ages 2.9 to 5 years old, with a focus on learning through play and exploration. Our cozy, nurturing environment helps each child feel secure and valued as they grow and develop. Committed to fostering a love of learning, we provide a supportive foundation for every child’s early education journey.

Curriculum and Activities
Criss Cross Applesauce Schoolhouse offers a variety of tools, toys, and educational materials for all ages. We enjoy and incorporate age appropriate arts and crafts, outdoor activities and field trips to local businesses around us! In addition to our daily routine, we also incorporate themes and celebrate all holidays and birthdays throughout the year.
Nutrition and Help
Although you have to provide your child with their own lunch, Criss Cross Applesauce Schoolhouse will provide two snacks a day. Your child will receive morning snacks and afternoon snacks which will always incorporate a vegetable and fruit. We will also follow any specialized diets depending on your child’s needs (allergies or special preferences).

Criss Cross Applesauce Schoolhouse is a home based preschool with lots of love inside. Your child and family will quickly become part of our family and you will feel like you are right at home.

We are located in Longmeadow, MA right near the Enfield, CT and Springfield, MA borders.
Our Team
Our passionate team at Criss Cross Applesauce Schoolhouse is dedicated to providing high-quality early education in a warm, nurturing environment. Each educator is experienced in creating engaging, play-based learning experiences and offers individualized care to support every child’s growth and development. We’re here to make every child’s time with us joyful and enriching.
Erin Patterson
Erin Patterson found her love for teaching 18 years ago when she started her journey at Holyoke Community College studying Early Childhood Development. Ms. Erin has worked at a variety of schools volunteering and teaching children around different parts of New England. Ms. Erin’s connection with children is undeniable and outstanding and it continues to grow even when the children leave the program. She knew opening up her own preschool was always the end goal, so she decided to put her mind to it and did exactly that. When Ms. Erin is not teaching, you can find her spending time with her family, cooking, laying out by her pool enjoying the sun, or throwing a fun get together with her closest friends.
Ms. Erin holds a Family Child Care Provider license and Lead Teacher certification. She is also CPR/First Aid certified.
Madison Bates
Madison Bates has been a teacher in Early Childhood Education for the last 9 years in Springfield, MA. Right when Miss. Madi graduated high school, she enrolled at Springfield Technical Community College for Early Childhood and then went on to finish her Bachelor’s degree at Bay Path University in Longmeadow, MA. Madi has worked as a Behavioral Interventionist as well. Miss. Madi adores every single one of her students and builds a connection with all of them. Erin and Madi have worked together for the last 6 years and go hand in hand. When Miss. Madi isn’t at Criss Cross Applesauce, you can find her spending time with her family (especially her niece Lainey), at the gym, or in Cape Cod.
Miss. Madi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Assistant. Director 1 License, and Lead Teacher Certification. She is also CPR/First Aid Certified.

We are open year- round but we do close for holidays, Longmeadow Public School vacation days, and a few weeks in the summer with the option of summer camp.
